Would An Owner Of A Restaurant Be Referred To As An ‘entrepreneur’?

I am currently working on an assignment. I am trying to write about a restaurant owner in the correct context. Is it correct to refer to a restaurant/bar owner as an entrepreneur? Or is this only correct when referring to certain business types? Any additional information on how to formally refer to a ‘restaurant owner’ would be appreciated as I am not very familiar with this area of knowledge! Thanks in advance!

One Response to “Would An Owner Of A Restaurant Be Referred To As An ‘entrepreneur’?”

  1. An entrepreneur is someone who decides to take up a (business) opportunity at the cost of being exposed to risk. A restaurant owner is definitely an entrepreneur since that market is extremely risky.
To answer your question: yes, you can definitely refer to the owner as an entrepreneur in your assignment.
